Child Find

In accordance with Part B of the IDEA, as well as applicable state statutes and regulations, Waterford Public Schools actively seeks to locate, identify, and refer children from birth to age 22 who require special education and related services in order to assist them and their families regardless of the severity of the disability.

If you are concerned about a young child's development, you are encouraged to contact your local elementary school to receive information about Early Childhood Screenings:

The district’s Child Find responsibilities apply to all children who reside within the district, including children who are educated at home, homeless children, children who are wards of the state, and children attending private schools. This responsibility includes cooperating and collaborating with other agencies to identify children with disabilities.
