WHS Principal Weekly Updates
WHS Updates (02-02-24)
Dear Waterford High School Families,
I hope this email finds you well. Here are a few updates about what is scheduled for the next few weeks:
Winter Ball: The Class of 2024 is hosting the Winter Ball for all high school students on Saturday, February 3rd from 7:00-10:00pm in the Lancer Gym. Tickets ($25.00) will be sold at the door via cash, or a check made payable to WHS-SAF.
Winter Spirit Week: Will take place this month between February 5th – 9th. We will be hosting a series of school spirit activities throughout the week on the schedule below. As always, it is a week dedicated to demonstrating positive pride in your grade, school, and community, and it is going to be great: Winter Spirit Week Flyer (2024).png
Attention Class of 2024: Seniors - it’s never too early to start thinking about purchasing your cap and gown. The company we use is Herff Jones. Remember that the only purchase you need is the rental of the gown. It comes with a cap and tassel to keep. Please click on the link to place your order: https://highschool.herffjones.com/secom/school/CT/Waterford%20High%20School/06000902000/4392/buildpackage/1
Socks for Seniors Fundraiser: Senior Services, Youth Services and the Waterford Police are doing their annual fundraiser for seniors that live in Waterford long-term care facilities. Instead of blankets, they are collecting socks this year from January 10th through February 7th! WHS is supporting this initiative by holding a class competition to see which Advisory can collect the most socks. The winning Advisory class will be awarded some goodies along with a special visit from Hodges. Please bring your sock donations to your Advisory teacher. School Version Socks for Seniors.pdf
information.
WHS Ski Club: Will be heading to Burke Mountain, Vermont from March 1st – March 3rd. Skiers and snowboarders of all abilities are welcome to join, even new learners! This trip is a great value – check out the Cost Comparison. Interested students can see Mr. Ryan or Mr. Florio for informational packets and permission slips.
All Parents Welcome: Our next Parents Advisory Coffee meeting is on Tuesday, February 6th, at 7:30am in the Library Reading Room. Please join the WHS administrative team for an hour's conversation and coffee. We will share some information about the school year and some of our upcoming events, and as always, we will set aside some time for any questions you may have. All are welcome and we hope to see you there!
